NTR Pvt. Ltd. participation in “Outreach Programme on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)"
EEPC India organized “Outreach Programme on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)" at Vanijya Bhavan, 1/1 Wood Street, Kolkata 700016, held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 3 PM.
The objective of this Programme was to share, understand and create awareness on the following points:
That the Government of India has introduced the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) scheme as a part of its obligation to the World Customs Organization under the framework of Standards to Secure and facilitate Global Trade (SAFE).
The AEO Programme envisages various benefits to different categories of economic operators. The intention is to give AEO-certified operators preferential treatment in terms of less Customs examination, relaxed procedural requirements etc. Authorized Economic Operators include inter alia manufacturers, importers, exporters, brokers, carriers, consolidators, intermediaries, ports, airports, terminal operators, integrated operators, warehouses and distributors.
The key speakers were Senior officials from the Directorate of International Customs (DIC), New Delhi and Kolkata Customs, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India, ICICI Bank, AEO and Service Provider.
Sri Amit Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner, Directorate of International Customs, New Delhi presented the details “ About AEO “ and a few benefits like Lower Risk Score, Risk Assessment Tool, Less Redundancy / Duplication of Efforts, Common Standard / Trade Facilitation and Transparency.
